ABOUT NEED MISSION
Founded in 2012, the National Environment and Energy Development Mission (NEED Mission) is a non-profit organization and an initiative of Vijnana Bharati, dedicated to building an energy-secure, sustainable, and self-reliant India. With presence across 20 states and a national headquarters in Bhopal, we work at policy, technology, and grassroots levels to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and environmental conservation.
Our multidisciplinary team of experts drives innovative solutions, capacity building, and youth skill development while bridging gaps between technology, finance, and governance. Through awareness programs, research, and stakeholder engagement, we translate vision into action for a cleaner, greener future.
Objectives of NEED Mission
To make Bharat an energy self-reliant nation through energy conservation and adopting an alternative approach for energy sustainability.
Sensitize decision-making bodies on the existing gaps in policy and regulatory framework in the energy sector.
Translate emerging technology ideas and find practical and sustainable solutions for ensuring energy security and tackling environmental challenges.
Explore financial mechanisms to develop alternative energy and energy saving technologies.
Develop pragmatic methodologies for implementing Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Projects.
Reach out to the masses to create energy awareness.
