About Us
About National Environment and Energy Development Mission
Founded in 2012, the National Environment and Energy Development Mission (NEED Mission) is a non-profit organization and an initiative of Vijnana Bharati, dedicated to building an energy-secure, sustainable, and self-reliant India. With presence across 20 states and a national headquarters in Bhopal, we work at policy, technology, and grassroots levels to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and environmental conservation.
Our multidisciplinary team of experts drives innovative solutions, capacity building, and youth skill development while bridging gaps between technology, finance, and governance. Through awareness programs, research, and stakeholder engagement, we translate vision into action for a cleaner, greener future.

The mission of NEED Mission is to serve the nation through science-driven, people-centric, and sustainable energy initiatives that strengthen energy security, environmental protection, and social development.
We strive to:
Promote energy self-reliance of Bharat through energy conservation, renewable energy adoption, and sustainable technologies.
Identify and bridge policy, regulatory, and implementation gaps in the energy and environment sector by engaging with decision-makers and institutions.
Encourage innovation and practical deployment of emerging technologies for clean energy, energy efficiency, and environmental protection.
Develop and support financial and institutional mechanisms that enable large-scale adoption of alternative energy and energy-saving solutions.
Design and implement practical, scalable, and community-oriented projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and environmental conservation.
Build capacity, skills, and awareness among youth, professionals, and society to create a responsible and energy-conscious nation.
Work at policy, technology, and grassroots levels to connect research, industry, government, and society for sustainable development.
Inspire people to adopt environment-friendly lifestyles and participate actively in building a cleaner and greener Bharat.
